I've been doing some watercolors lately. When the weather feels too oppressive to be in my sculpture studio I find myself working in the air conditioned space I use for two dimensional works. I seem to work in two different modes when I use watercolor paints. One is a tighter, more spare style and the other is looser and experimental. I'm not sure why there is a difference or that it really matters, but here's some examples of what I'm talking about.
As an artist, do you find this is true for you as well?
