I spent yesterday in Manhattan. A couple of other artists in residence here at the Vyt and I were treated to a tour of the historic Art Students League of New York building on 57th Street. The league has a long and storied past, celebrating its 142nd year. The alumni list includes Rothko, Pollock, Calder, Clifford Still, Beverly Pepper and the list goes on. I feel privileged to be, in a small way, associated with the ASL.
