The River's Edge, 2016
steel, black locust
3 x 18 1/2 x 10 in.
This sculpture is another one that was started in New York and the finishes applied in my studio in Fort Worth. The black locust is a species of tree found in the area around New York. It has a beautiful grain and is extremely dense. I was fortunate enough to be given several pieces to work with while at the Art Students League at Vytlacil.
The steel is patinated to a brown/black color then lacquered and waxed.
